Smack in the middle of some of the best riding routes our country has to offer, Overland Expo Mountain West serves as a great destination (or stopover) along your two-wheeled journey. With a moto camping area to foster community and make it easier to meet future riding buddies, a packed education schedule, a phenomenal array of vendors, and the famous Rider Justice Moto Party + Dinner, there are moto-specific festivities sure to please every rider at Overland Expo Mountain West.
During the day, vendors will be throughout the venue, ready to give product demos and talk about the products they represent. For those who prefer not to self-cater, a wide variety of food trucks will be available throughout the event. One of our top tips for “navigating” your weekend at Overland Expo is to make sure you figure out which classes and inspirational presentations you want to attend so you can visit vendor booths and socialize in between sessions.

Overland Expo’s director of programming Azure O’Neil, who happens to be a motorcyclist, is thrilled to share one of our most dynamic and expansive ADV Skills Area lineups to date.
If you’re attending Overland Expo looking for inspiration for your next big two-wheeled trip, we have you covered:
Round-the-world traveler and professional photographer Chris McCormack will share the story of his trip through Mongolia where he rode 3,200 miles in six weeks. He only crashed three times, which he says is, “Not bad for his first time ever on a motorcycle.” WHAT!?! His first time on a motorcycle was in Mongolia?!
One of our favorite repeat presenters at Overland Expo Mountain West, Rex Covington, will talk about his journey around the US to raise money and awareness about Type 1 Diabetes in honor of his son.
The instructor who is most likely to be awarded for having traveled the farthest to get to Loveland, Colorado, is “Adventure Detective Ken McGreevy.” After 42 years working as a police detective in Ireland, Ken retired and began riding around the world. He has stories for days (years, perhaps) and his wit and humble charm is sure to bring those stories to life for the lucky attendees of his session.
With the goal of riding a motorcycle across every country in the world, Dan Mayer will talk about his progress to date (more than 30 countries), and the learnings and amusements he’s encountered along the way.

- Planning Group Trips: How to Herd Kittens Without Losing Your Mind
- Mastering Route Planning: Pro Tips from 10 Years of Experience
- Buying vs. Renting a Motorcycle Abroad: What’s Better for Your Budget and Time? (Central and S. America)

Scott Arkon will give a superb overview of moto camping in his “Moto-Camping 101: Ultralight Versus Ultracomfort” session. And then he’ll share his thoughts about the “Top 5 Upgrades Every Motorcycle Needs.”
Keith Dishong will cover “Moto-Packing 101: From Weekend Warrior to Living on the Road” which is a can’t-miss as there is ALWAYS something new to learn from any instructor teaching a moto-packing class — be prepared to pick up new tricks and tips. And given Keith’s background as a tour guide, his “The Tool Kit (and Spares) You Need for Motorcycle Touring” session is sure to be loaded with super useful information.
If you’re keen to set out on a BDR adventure, join J.P. Prins for his how-to session titled “BDR-Proof Your Motorcycle.”
