After the apparent demise of the RAM TRX, Stellantis announced the Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition for the 2025 model year, seemingly sealing the fate of the V8 options for the Wranglers and RAM 1500s. The 392 Final Edition built upon an already impressive Wrangler with cosmetic updates throughout and a number of upgrades including; a triple hoop grill guard, a Warn winch, a fold-out tailgate table, an onboard air compressor, a custom toolkit, and even .5 inches of additional lift on top of the 1.5 inch lift and 35-inch tires found on other 392 Wranglers. All of this made for an impressive send-off for the powerful Wrangler.

Well, now it appears the end of the 392 was more of a lull. According to some remarks from Stellantis leadership, the Wrangler 392 is coming back, and it’s bringing some friends. Our friends at The Drive reported that Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, speaking at a recent briefing, said, “Wrangler and Gladiator fans, and the Hemi fans in general, don’t worry. We got you.” That’s right, the Hemi is back at Jeep, and seemingly, it will be debuting in the Gladiator soon.

Once again, fresh on the heels of the discontinuation of the RAM 1500 TRX, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa said, “The V8 engine on versions such as the RAM 1500 TRX will deliver to us additional volumes.” Given that the TRX currently isn’t available, this seems to insuate that a return is on the horizon. While no official dates have been given, at least we know that the last Hemi-powered Jeeps and RAM 1500s aren’t a thing of the past. We’ll be sure to update our audience once the official dates are available.

New Land Rover Defenders are Dakar Ready https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/new-land-rover-defenders-are-dakar-ready/ Thu, 07 Aug 2025 15:00:59 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=51663 There’s no denying that the overall reaction to the reintroduction of the Land Rover Defender in 2020 was lukewarm at best. Now it seems Land Rover is playing a bit of catch-up with varying new Defender models specifically engineered for the kind of off-roading this legendary 4×4 is associated with, and even one that’s built to take on the legendary Dakar rally.

The Defender Octa debuted earlier this year and features a host of upgrades geared toward performance on and off the pavement. For starters, it’s powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that cranks out 626 horsepower. That’s 108 more horsepower than the second most powerful option, and over double the stock 2.0 four-cylinder. The twin-turbo V8 pushes 590 pound-feet of torque, and it boasts a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. The track is widened by 2.7 inches, and the Octa boasts 11.5 inches of ground clearance. And because stream crossings happen, the Octa can handle just shy of three feet of water. 35.4 inches to be exact.

If the Octa isn’t off-road ready and performance-focused enough for you, don’t fret, because while it isn’t available at the local dealership, the Defender D7X-R is ready to take on one of the world’s toughest tracks. This Rover will be piloted by four-time Dakar Rally stage winner Sara Price in the 2026 edition of the race. Sara will be competing in the “Stock” category across a nearly 5,000-mile course that features tough desert terrain and conditions that push both driver and machine. With any luck the modifications and engineering found on the D7X-R will trickle down to future iterations of the Defender available to the public.

A Trio of New Gear for Summer Overland Adventures and Beyond https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/summer-2025-overland-gear-trio/ Thu, 31 Jul 2025 22:02:47 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=51539 The last couple of weeks have seen the release of some awesome overland and adventure-adjacent gear. Namely, some updates and new versions of some of our favorite gear have hit the market, and we’re excited to check them out in person at Overland Expo Mountain West.

If you walk through the Overland Expo campground, you’ll notice a trend amongst ground tents. A high percentage of them are of a particular hue of orange or green, and that’s because the Gazelle T4 tent series is incredibly popular at our events and out on the trail. Now, Gazelle has updated the T4 with a new edition geared towards cold temps and inclement weather. Dubbed the T4 Overland EXP, this model features the same easy setup and take down that Gazelle tents are known for, but with updates that will help campers stay comfortable in colder temps. Up top the mesh panels can be closed with zipper panels. It also features closable vents for use with diesel heaters or portable air conditioning units, so you can stay comfortable even in extreme temperatures at both ends of the spectrum. And thanks to a new pole design, the T4 EXP packs down to 9.5″ x 9.5″ x 57″ so it fits in tighter spaces than previous models for easy transport.

Most of our readers are deep into the dog days of summer, so any way we can beat the heat and humidity is a welcome relief, and if you’re headed outdoors, a good pair of shades is a summer staple. The innovators at Ombraz sunglasses just released a new model that’s great for lounging, hitting the trails, or even the water. The Refugio, Italian for “shelter,” shares the same armless design as the rest of the Ombraz lineup and offers a full shield design and Zeiss optics that protect 100% of UVA and UVB. The integrated nose pads offer a subtle lift away from the brow for increased ventilation and reduced fogging even in the hottest conditions. You can tighten down the abrasion-resistant cord and hit the rivers without fear of losing your sunglasses if you dive in, no matter if it’s planned or not.

onX Offroad Adds First-of-its-Kind Motorized Dispersed Camping Layer to App https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/onx-offroad-adds-first-of-its-kind-motorized-dispersed-camping-layer-to-app/ Tue, 22 Jul 2025 15:02:35 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=51404 new onX Offroad dispersed camping layer helps overlanders find uncontested places to hang their hats and pitch their tents.

onX recently announced the addition of a new layer to its suite of onX Offroad products: onX Dispersed Camping. The layer pinpoints close to 140,000 miles of roads and trails in the US National Forest System where dispersed camping is legal. For those not familiar with the term, dispersed camping, also known as free camping, refers to camping outside of designated campgrounds on public lands. It’s typically off-grid, meaning there are no facilities; these campsite require campers and overlanders to be self-sufficient, and follow the Leave No Trace guidelines.

The Dispersed Camping Layer from onX is the first of its kind, and its creators hope that it will reduce “congestion and collective impact on public lands” by allowing campers to easily identify and locate vehicle-accessible locations that they can legally camp at. “By highlighting all the legal camping corridors, instead of pinpointing a limited number of marked sites, the layer helps users spread out, which helps disperse the environmental impact seen on popular sites pinned in other products,” said onX Offroad Content Manager Chris Cordes.

READ MORE: You Can Now Use onX Offroad in Your Dashboard with Apple CarPlay

Similar to overlanding, dispersed camping has grown in popularity over the last five years, with more campers than ever exploring far beyond the typical campsite. When onX’s motorized Dispersed Camping Layer is toggled on, the layer highlights the road and trail segments that house dispersed camping areas in yellow, users can click on the road or trail for each area’s unique regulations.

onX can work offline with downloaded maps, allowing overlanders to explore farther. photo by onX

onX says that before this layer, there were two options available to campers seeking dispersed campsites: they could consult Forest Service PDFs, which are clunky and non-interactive, or they could rely on user-generated apps that varied in their accuracy. With the app’s new layer, overlanders and campers can view camping information in the context of their route in real time.

As of this summer’s launch, the Dispersed Camping Layer is available for 11 states, including  vehicle-accessible corridors in US Forest Service lands in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. onX says it plans to expand the coverage nationwide later this summer, and include dispersed camping on other federal lands in the future. The layer is currently available to onX Offroad Premium and Elite users. At the time of this writing, a Premium yearly membership costs $34.99, while the Elite version comes in at $99.99, billed annually.

You can find out more about the new layer here.

Toyota’s Barebones and Discounted Land Cruiser https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/toyota-land-cruiser-commercial/ Wed, 09 Jul 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=51242 For several generations of the legendary SUV, the Toyota Land Cruiser has become a bit of a luxury vehicle. Even 25 years ago, US-based LCs included features that didn’t trickle down to more utility-focused vehicles for decades. However, in most of the world, that hasn’t been the case, and based on a recent release from Toyota, this trend is continuing with the new 250. As usual, this barebones 4×4 won’t be making its way to the United States.

The aptly named Land Cruiser Commercial resembles the rest of the 250 from the exterior, but inside, the differences are immediately noticeable. Boasting 71 cubic feet of cargo space thanks to the total deletion of the second and third row, speaking of which, that last row isn’t available on US-spec 250s, but the Lexus GX does include that option. For a bit of perspective, that’s about twice the cargo space offered in the more pedestrian version. There’s also a steel mesh partition protecting the driver and sole passenger from any loose cargo in case things get spirited away.

READ MORE: Garmin Launches Tread 2, Featuring Overland and SxS Editions

However, this commercial-focused Cruiser isn’t all business with zero creature comforts. It still includes blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, dual climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Under the hood, the same 2.8 diesel found in other UK-based Land Cruiser 250s cranks out the power and offers 7,716 pounds of towing capacity.

This no-frills version comes in about $35,000 cheaper than other options when adjusted to USD. That discount, and the fact that it appears prime for an interior build-out or even a pop-top roof conversion, makes it a true tragedy that it isn’t available in the States.

The 2025 Toyota Trailhunter Grade, Explained https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/2025-toyota-trailhunter-grade/ Mon, 07 Jul 2025 23:36:31 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=51248 It’s no secret that the Toyota 4Runner and Tacoma are two of the most popular models in overlanding — and driving at large. Toyota recently introduced a new frontier for its two icons, focused specifically on overlanding; the new 2025 Trailhunter grade, designed to bring overlanding innovation and upgrades to the forefront. Here’s a full breakdown of Trailhunter, from new technologies and upgrades to increased value for the customer. Buckle up.

What makes the 2025 Trailhunter grade different?

The Trailhunter grade was first introduced on the all-new 2024 Tacoma and has been expanded to the all-new 2025 4Runner. Toyota’s Trailhunter grade was designed specifically with overlanding in mind, and features key innovations and technology to help make the experience more seamless than ever before. The Trailhunter grade’s key features include its suspension enhancement and off-road accessories; in short, it’s got all the bells and whistles to make adventuring more fun than ever.

The Trailhunter grade was desgined in collaboration with ARB®, Old Man Emu® and RIGID Industries®, and includes durable components and integrated off-road equipment that have been mainstays in the overlanding community for years. According to Toyota, “Both the Toyota Tacoma and 4Runner Trailhunter grades include a 2.4-liter i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain delivering 323 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.” Additional standard features on both models include Old Man Emu® suspension, rugged steel skid plates, a high-mount air intake, and onboard air compressor.

Building on the inaugural 2024 Trailhunter, the 2025 Tacoma Trailhunter comes stock with an ARB steel rear bumper and ARB Sport bar, while the 2025 Toyota 4Runner Trailhunter upgrades include an ARB® roof rack. Both 2025 Trailhunter grades come equipped with 33-inch rugged-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch bronze-finished wheels.

What accessories can customers expect on the 2025 Trailhunter grade?

It’s pretty much assumed that everyone who loves overlanding loves overlanding accessories, and Toyota took that into account when developing the 2025 Trailhunter grade. Thanks to the company’s colllaboration with well-known names in the overlanding community, consideration was given to protection and recovery (the Tacoma rear bumper), mounting platforms for accessories (the bed rack, roof rack and sport bar) and a suspension tuned for the demands of overlanding.

The Trailhunter grade comes standard with integrated overlanding equipment that customers will need to get out to the furthest reaches of the backcountry. Take the suspension upgrades that come stock on the Trailhunter: the Old Man Emu® suspension, with 2.5-inch forged monotube shocks and external remote reservoirs, prioritizes the ruggedness, capability and stability that overlanders rely on traveling the toughest routes.

Unless you’re deeply experienced wrenching on your rig, modifying your vehicle’s suspension and other foundational basics can be overwhelming — and when it comes to safety, getting things right is key. That’s why, rather than throwing a fancy rooftop tent on the 2025 Trailhunter as an upgrade and calling it a day, Toyota innovated its overlanding-specific grade from the bottom up, ensuring foundational suspension, lift and protection were all dialed. Not only do these included upgrades give peace of mind on the trail — they also keep the vehicle’s warranty intact, another bonus for customers.

Both the 4Runner and Tacoma Trailhunter grades come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which is the company’s suite of advanced driver-assist features designed for use on and off the road. Additionally, off-road nav tools and Multi-Terrain Monitors help drivers navigate tough conditions, with front, side or rear views being selectable on the go.

Visibility is another key component to overlanding safely, and Toyota beefed up the lighting system on the 2025 Trailhunter grade: both models feature RIGID Industries® white-and-amber color-switching LED fog lights, and an integrated LED light bar on the bronze grille.

Is the 2025 Trailhunter grade is available now?

The short answer? Yes. If you’re intrigued by the innovative 2025 Trailhunter grade, both grades are available now. The 2025 Tacoma Trailhunter starts at $31,590, while the 2025 4Runner Trailhunter starts at $41,270.

ARB Releases an Awesome Catalogue for a Truck We Can’t Get https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/arb-offroad-accessories-kia-tasman/ Thu, 26 Jun 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50773 I think we’re officially in “insult to injury” territory, or at least I am because ARB just teased a whole suite of awesome accessories for the yet-to-be-released Kia Tasman. Now, just in review, this pint-sized truck will be available with some cool off-road/utility options straight from the factory, including a four-door cab with a six-foot bed, a tray bed, crawl control, 9.5 inches of ground clearance, and a locking rear differential. However, it doesn’t seem likely that this offering from Kia will make it to the States.

Photo via Kia

With that disappointing thought in mind, ARB’s offerings are still cool to see. For starters, a hooped and hoopless bull bar will provide impact protection up front and a more aggressive look to the controversial front end of the Tasman. For even more protection on the trail, the hooped bullbar can be paired with front rails.

READ MORE: A Newcomer’s Guide to Overland Expo – PNW Edition 2025

On the opposite end of the truck, half and full canopies are available for the tray bed. Uptop roof racks for the cab and tray provide plenty of cargo capacity. ARB also lists bash plates, tub lids, rock sliders, and more as part of the Tasman product catalog. All of this, in addition to 40+ items, will be available directly from Kia.

Without a doubt, the Tasman isn’t for everyone. The previously mentioned grill and front clip were a bold choice, and the fender flares are a unique design, but when you look at the options, it will make a great work truck or overland rig in the countries where it’s available. Somewhat surprisingly, the starting MSRP of $43,000 AUD (around $28,000 USD, not that it matters) puts it squarely in the middle of the Hilux price bracket, and the top-of-the-line X-Pro trim is just shy of $75,000 AUD (nearing $49,000 USD). Once again, this is close to a top-spec Hilux.

Even though it’s not exactly a budget option, some forecasts predict it will be a top seller for Kia in its respective markets. An estimated 20,000 units per annum would make it a quarter of the global production output of Kia. Based on a recent hint from Kia, they’re putting a lot of trust in the Tasman because an SUV version is in the works. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath for that to be available in the States either. Regardless, our overlanding friends in Australia

Jeep Partners with Jurassic World for an Adventure Filled Summer https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/jeep-jurassic-world-rebirth/ Wed, 25 Jun 2025 15:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50819 A few vehicles from films seem to stick out to enthusiasts and the general audience more than others. The Delorean, a host of cars that 007 has driven, and at least if you’re a fan of Spielberg and/or dinosaurs, the Explorers and Wranglers from the Jurassic Park series. The characters getting their first introductions to the brachiosaurus via the 1992 Wrangler YJs is an iconic scene that now lives on via memes across the internet. Of course, there’s also the classic chase scene with the Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the Jeeps even made an appearance in Jurassic World in 2015.

Now, with a new Jurassic World film that features Jeeps hitting theaters next week, we have a sneak peek of the vehicles that are continuing the legacy of the franchise with these legendary off-roaders. This partnership isn’t just confined to the big screen. Jeep has produced a series of ad spots that include the same visual effects team as the film, highlighting several Jeep models that will be available with “Jurassic Trail Rated” badges this summer. Beyond this additional badge, later this summer, 2,000 U.S. Jeep dealerships will roll out Jurassic-themed point-of-sale kits, including posters, dino-themed mirror hangers, claw marks, and footprint decals.

Along with the various Wrangler models, the spot offers a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpse at the upcoming Jeep Renegade model in the first few seconds of the video below.

It’s fun to see these types of partnerships for marketing and branding purposes. In the decades since the original Jurassic Park, we occasionally see DIY versions of the YJ Wranglers from that film at Overland Expo and out on the trails. As Jeep rolls out the special branding alongside Jurassic World Rebirth, we hope to have the opportunity to check out these touches on the new models in person soon.

Dometic Launches Recon Series, A New Modular Line of Coolers and Accessories https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/dometic-recon-modular-coolers/ Mon, 23 Jun 2025 15:22:22 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50786 The Venn diagram of those who liked Tetris growing up and overlanding as adults finally has some clarify of that middle cross-over space, thanks to Dometic’s latest launch: a new line of stackable, modular coolers and accessories designed specifically for car camping and overlanding. Lovers of organization and overlanding, this launch is specifically for you. Read on to learn more about the Dometic Recon Series.

The Recon Series was developed as a whole new ecosystem, one designed to squeeze as much usable space from SUVs and overlanding rigs as possible. The individual hard-sided coolers are built to stack on top of one another, using non-stick feet and corresponding depressions in the lids to nest securely on top of each other. The folding handles on the side of each cooler tuck away discreetly into recesses in the sides of each cooler, enhancing side-by-side packing.

Dometic acquired overlanding brand Front Runner in 2021, and it seems to have taken a few cues from the overlanding experts on the FR team. The Recon Series takes design cues from the popular Wolf Pack Pro boxes, which are also engineered to stack and nest with one another. The Recon Series builds upon this by adding the cooler element to the stackable design ethos.

Not satisfied with reviving the concept of stacking hard sided coolers (Coleman had Party Stackers a decade ago, but discontinued them), Dometic has included soft-sided accessories and options into the Recon ecosystem as well. The new line includes three hard-sided, injection molded coolers — which range between 16 and 69 liters (18 and 100 cans without ice) — and three soft-sided coolers, as well. These are available in 12, 17 and 21-liter sizes. Dometic also launched a Recon Tote along with its hard and soft coolers.

There are more functional features we’d be remiss not to mention: On the hard-sided coolers, the lids can open in multiple directions, in case you’re trying to grab a beverage from an awkward angle. The latches also function as bottle openers. Further down the line, Dometic says it plan to offer a spigot that swaps in for the drain plug, transforming the cooler into a portable water jug full of icy cold delight.

The soft coolers are designed to squeeze into tight spaces, and use zipper-free lids with dual-hinge latches for more convenient opening options. The reinforced base and abrasion-resistant 840D nylon TPU-coated outer shell ensure these rugged coolers will last for years to come.

The Recon line is available now, with all coolers retailing between US$225 and $425.

Four Wheel Campers Debuts the New Hawk+ Flatbed Camper https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/four-wheel-campers-new-hawk-plus/ Tue, 10 Jun 2025 15:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50664 Earlier this month, Four Wheel Campers debuted its most advanced flatbed camper yet: the Hawk+. So, what sets this model apart from other Four Wheel Camper offerings? Read on to find out.

The new Hawk+ slide-in camper by Four Wheel Campers offers a completely off-grid experience for extended overlanding excursions

The brand-new Hawk+ promises more features and functionality for longer, more off-grid overlanding and roadtripping adventures, and delivers on these promise by upgrading the brand’s classic Hawk camper with extended-travel capabilities, full self-containment and more. For those familiar with the 50-year-old brand’s flatbed design, the Hawk+ builds upon that design, and is Four Wheel Campers’ first-ever fully self-contained camper.

The Hawk+ is designed for extended travel on-grid or off, and includes an expanded power capacity, increased fresh water storage, an integrated grey water system and smart interior layout to make full self-containment a reality. The Hawk+ is specifically designed for heavy-duty trucks with a 7-foot flatbed tray, and is designed to maximize every inch of available space. In a nutshell, the Four Wheel Campers Hawk+ includes more power, more resources and more space.

Power Up

You want power? You’ll get power with the Four Wheel Campers Hawk+. The newest design from the legacy brand includes external 12V/120V ports with USB & USB-C for external charging, a dedicated exterior DC port for Starlink Mini, so that you can stay connected anywhere, and a suite of optional upgrades. These include:

  • Up to 810Ah lithium battery capacity (optional) – Massive energy storage for extended off-grid adventures
  • Up to 500W of roof-mounted solar panels (optional) – Harness the sun to stay powered anywhere
  • RedArc Manager Alpha 75 (optional) – Advanced power management for monitoring and charging

Increased Resources

The Hawk+ is designed for extended stays, whether that’s in the backcountry or at your favorite local campsite. Upgrades to the new design include:

  • 40-gallon fresh water tank – Twice the capacity of standard FWC slide-ins and flatbeds
  • Built-in 5-gallon gray water tank – A brand-new feature for Four Wheel Campers, designed for added convenience and compliance

The Hawk+ also includes an optional cooking upgrade in the form of a inset portable 2-burner induction stove, which can be use indoors or outside to increase cooking flexibilty.

Stretch Out, Get Comfy

One of the drawbacks of staying in campers while overlanding is the lack of usable space — but the Hawk+ has been engineered to solve for tight quarters. The redesigned interior includes the following upgrades:

  • +6″ of floor, counter, and cabinet space – Expanded interior footprint compared to the original Hawk Flatbed
  • +6″ of dinette space (compared to original Hawk Flatbed) – Seats up to four, ideal for meals or working on the go
  • Pass-through external storage – Includes a convenient flip-down table for outdoor use
  • New front countertop – Features integrated pantry storage for organization

Additionally, customers can add on a rear MOLLE rack for mounting gear and accessories, should things become crowded inside.

EarthCruiser Returns with a Bold New Look https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/earthcruiser-returns/ Mon, 02 Jun 2025 16:28:23 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50401 Around a year ago, we unfortunately had to report the closing of longtime expedition vehicle builder EarthCruiser. They had been a cornerstone of that industry for years and were a common sight at Overland Expo. Now, we couldn’t be more excited to report that EarthCruiser is relaunching with a new product lineup that sees their expertise applied to a new corner of the overland vehicle market.

The new operational model will see Earth Cruiser provide their EC MOD slide-in campers and TerraNova shells to select adventure van builders and upfitters across the US. This new model will see structurally complete EarthCruiser units delivered to the partner network, where they’ll be installed and finished to meet the customer’s own pace and budget. This new strategy allows EarthCruiser’s experienced engineers and design team in Bend, Oregon, to reach a broader audience and forge new partnerships with builders around the country.

“This shift isn’t just about distribution,” says EarthCruiser founder Lance Gillies. “It’s about realigning with the core values that EarthCruiser has stood for since the beginning — craftsmanship, innovation, and a genuine commitment to our customers.”

READ MORE: Overland Expo Presents the Film Festival Lineup for PNW 2025

In the near future, EarthCruiser will debut the highly anticipated EVADO for Sprinter chassis builds and some towable options. This new offering will also be available at a number of build partners.

“Building a real overland vehicle requires a fundamentally different approach than producing large volume mass-produced assembly line RVs,” says Gillies. “It must be engineered from the ground up with experience and customer requirements front of mind, the real needs of the people who use them.” That takes a conversation, not always possible with the traditional RV dealer model. Experience counts.

The new business model isn’t the only news from our friends at EarthCruiser. They’re also launching Tag-Along Training Tours. These immersive adventures provide customers the opportunity to refine their skills, build confidence, and connect with the EarthCruiser community in stunning overland destinations.

We’re excited to see the EarthCruiser team continuing to innovate, and this model will undoubtedly make their high-quality goods more easily accessible nationwide. When the new EVADO is revealed, we’ll be sure to share that exciting option with the Overland Expo audience.

Overland Industry Leaders Reflect, Connect, and Collaborate at The Summit https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/summit-connects-overland-biz-leaders/ Thu, 29 May 2025 15:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50411 The Summit at Overland Expo West: Reflections from a Growing and Evolving Industry

As our biggest event of the year, it’s easy to think of Overland Expo West as the event for overlanders. So it makes sense that in the days preceding the Expo, industry leaders, professionals, and prominent voices got together to take advantage of being in the same area at the same time. They gathered at the Pepsi Amphitheatre in Flagstaff, Arizona for The Summit at Overland Expo West — a focused, high-value event for industry professionals to break bread prior to the consumer-focused portion of the Expo. The Summit was not just a space for connection, though, it was a lens into the present and future of overlanding.

The event opened with a casual networking evening on May 14. Attendees arrived, greeted by a relaxed campfire atmosphere, and reconnected with colleagues, partners, and collaborators over shared meals and stories. With a dinner provided by Overland Cookery and the shade of the surrounding pines setting the tone, the evening served to build rapport ahead of a more strategy-focused day.

The next morning, the Summit moved into its main program, beginning with a detailed presentation of the 2025 Overland Industry Report by Lindsay Hubley, former owner of Overland Expo. The report, built from four distinct data sources, offered a comprehensive picture of the market’s evolution from consumer behavior to supplier priorities. Hubley laid out compelling data: the overlanding community now includes more than 12 million Americans, a jump from 8 million in 2024, according to the 2025 Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Survey. This growth has been fueled in large part by Gen Z and Millennials — the more casual overland consumer is now often entering the space from a younger demographic, and is more budget-conscious but has long-term aspirations for off-grid adventure.

Perhaps most notably, the report confirmed that intermediate overlanders, or those with one to five years of experience, are now the market’s core. These consumers are taking frequent trips, investing steadily in their vehicles and gear, and placing brand reputation above price or specs in their decision-making. Trucks and SUVs continue to dominate the vehicle landscape, and nearly 80 percent of respondents plan to make new modifications in the next year. While online remains the dominant shopping channel, in-person events like Overland Expo still play an outsized role in shaping purchasing decisions and building trust.

Summit attendees had a lot of good questions, which we love to see because it shows their dedication to overlanders and what we’re really looking for in products. They wanted to know more about regional differences in modification trends, how resale markets influence upgrade cycles and lifecycle of product, and whether there’s a clear timeline in how long it takes a beginner to become an expert overlander. Other conversations explored how gear installation needs might affect where people shop, how airport access impacts expo attendance, and what kinds of terminology consumers are using to self-identify: whether as “overlanders,” “casual campers,” or “adventure rig owners.” While these questions may feel small or even esoteric to consumers, the conversations can really help brands and event organizers make sure they are reaching the people who could most benefit from their products or gatherings, and are designing products that are attainable and desirable by the people most interested in them.

Following the report, Josh Ehren, VP of Marketing at Storyteller Overland, shifted the conversation toward storytelling and brand connection. His presentation on community marketing was a passionate argument for trust, relevance, and relationship-driven growth. Citing data that shows over two-thirds of consumers distrust online ads, Ehren encouraged brands to move beyond performance marketing and start thinking in terms of belonging. He offered a straightforward framework for building brand communities rooted in shared values, transparent communication, and long-term emotional investment. “Tell your story so your audience can tell theirs,” he urged. His message resonated deeply: in an industry built on trust and trail-tested experience, authenticity is a competitive advantage.

The day concluded with a dynamic panel titled “The Full Circle,” which brought together voices from across the product and consumer journey. Panelists included Ryan Guay of FLATED, Jim Oostdyk of OK4WD, Mark Han of OVR Magazine, and Owen Mesdag of Dometic. The discussion covered everything from idea generation and product testing to market gaps and cross-functional collaboration.

Panelists spoke candidly about the tension between aspiration and practicality. While social media has played a major role in overlanding’s growth, it’s also created pressure to over-curate and over-sell. Guay and Mesdag highlighted the importance of solving real-world problems rather than designing gear for optics. Han noted that the media has a responsibility to help consumers filter through noise, and Oostdyk pointed out that product education and retailer training are important in building trust. As one panelist put it, “The customer is trying to build a lifestyle. We need to work together to make that lifestyle easier to access, understand, and trust.”

That sentiment captured the spirit of the entire Summit. This wasn’t just an event to exchange business cards, it was a moment for the industry to pause, reflect, and reorient. The conversations that took place weren’t always polished, but they were honest. And in that honesty, there was momentum.

The overland space is changing. It’s growing, diversifying, and maturing even as younger generations are getting excited and involved. And while the tools, vehicles, and platforms may evolve, the core remains constant: a desire for freedom, challenge, community, and connection. The Summit at Overland Expo West reminded all in attendance that this industry isn’t just about where we’re going. It’s about how we get there and who we bring along for the ride!

To become involved in the conversation and be a part of the most impactful event series dedicated to camping, overlanding, and outdoor recreation for brands and consumers alike, sign up to exhibit at an upcoming Overland Expo event! Solo Stove Debuts New Multifunctional Cooler, the Windchill 47 https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/solo-stove-debuts-windchill-47/ Wed, 28 May 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50381 Solo Stove's upcoming Windchill 47 is a cooler fridge, portable A/C, and mister all in one

You know Solo Stove for its simple and smokeless fire pits, but did you know the brand recently released a multifunctional cooler, built for the outdoors? Say hello to the Windchill 47 — and read on to learn more about what makes this new release so special.

Solo Stove’s roots are in backpacking and camping — although the brand’s most famous product is its line of smokeless fire pits, Solo Stove got started with backpacking and camping stoves built for the outdoors. After acquiring a suite of companies with fire pit-adjacent offerings, Solo Stove has come out with its own multifunctional cooler, the Windchill 47, which offers the ultimate trifecta of summertime chill vibes: food and beverage cooling, personal A/C, and misting. The Windchill is modeled after the Icybreeze cooler, which was developed by one of the brands Solo Stove recently purchased.

So, what sets the Windchill 47 apart from other coolers? That would be its multi-functional design, which allows typical use like keeping food and drink cold, but also builds in more perks, including personal air conditioning and misting. The design is streamlined from earlier versions, with electrical components more contained and the battery being integrated into a lid compartment rather than floating on top of the lid itself.

Besides more integrated construction, the Windchill 47 can hold up to 65 cans (without ice) of whatever beverage suits your fancy. The air conditioning functions by using a heat exchange system, one that pulls outside air in, cools it via the ice-filled main compartment, and pushes it back out as dry, cold air. Users can use the included vent hose, which stores in the underside of the lid, to direct air where desired. The Windchill 47 also features a misting system, which uses melted ice water to offer dewy relief from the heat.

If you’d like to save battery life, you can use the three-speed fan alone without air conditioning or mist, cutting down on power usage.

Additional features include: a built-in bottle opener, USB device charging, all-terrain wheels and a telescoping handle for easy transport, and an accessories attachment system to add a drink holder or even a side table. The removable 10-Ah battery provides at least three hours of air conditioning, dependent on your environment. Customers can also purchase additional 10- or 17-Ah battery packs for swapping.

All of this technology doesn’t come cheap, but compared to other electric cooler that don’t mist you, the price doesn’t make us freeze in our tracks: the Windchill 47 went up for preorder this month at a retail price of $650. Solo plans to begin deliveries in early June, just in time for things to really heat up — or with the Windchill, cool down.

Jeep Debuts ARTT Concept at Overland Expo West https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/jeep-artt-concept-rooftop-tent/ Mon, 26 May 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50372 A couple of months ago, we reported on an interesting patent filed by Jeep that showed a rooftop tent integrated into a JLU hardtop, and now those simple line drawings have made their debut! Last weekend at Overland Expo West, Jeep Performance Parts debuted the Awning and Rooftop Tent, aka ARTT, concept that was developed in partnership with Dometic.

This all-in-one awning and rooftop tent system seamlessly integrates into the Jeep Wrangler, and at Overland Expo West, the ARTT was mounted to the 4xe Sunchaser concept that originally debuted at Easter Jeep Safari. The ARTT addresses the issue of poor aerodynamics and added high-mounted weight normally associated with rooftop tents, and packing the ARTT into a carbon fiber shell that only adds minimal height to the stock JLU hardtop.

“The lightweight and compact JPP Awning and Rooftop Tent concept is the perfect accessory for adventure-seeking Jeep Wrangler owners, whether they are overlanding across long distances or decide to go on a spur-of-the-moment quick weekend getaway,” said Mike Koval, senior vice president and head of sales operations, Jeep brand. “We’re excited to see consumer reaction at Overland Expo West to our newest innovative concept for our enthusiast Jeep brand customers.”

Beyond the impressive stowed size, the ARTT’s cantilever design and internal access to the sleeping area provide exceptional livability to the design. With room for a queen-sized mattress, the ARTT is perfect for two adventurers or a solo traveler looking for a spacious sleeping system. The tent also incorporates Dometic’s AIR Frame Inflation technology and an integrated 270-degree awning.

We think an overland-focused product like this, directly from the manufacturer, is a huge step for the industry. Adding the ARTT to a JLU would give you a huge head start on having everything you need for comfortable extended stays in the backcountry. At Overland Expo West, a QR code invited attendees to participate in a survey to see how successful this product would be in the overlanding community. The survey was only available for the duration of the Expo, but we don’t doubt this product will be a big hit with Jeep fans and overlanders alike.

The 57k Mile Transglobal Car Expedition is Complete https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/transglobal-car-expedition-completed/ Fri, 16 May 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50001 For over a year, we’ve been keeping an eye on the epic journey of the Transglobal Car Expedition. After a 16-month, 57,530-mile journey, the team has returned to New York City, where they started their journey back in January of 2024. In the 16 months since then, the team has crossed 42 countries, endured temperatures down to -50 degrees Celsius, and crossed both the Arctic and Antarctic ice shelves.

As a quick recap, the team set off on January 9, 2024 from the Explorer’s Club in Manhattan, and headed off on their journey to circumnavigate the globe by driving to the North Pole, then south through Europe, the Middle East, and Africa before crossing Antartica, and then heading back to New York via South and North America. Obviously, the team transported their rigs via boat between legs, but the route is still incredibly impressive. The group was made up of a core group of eight members, and along the way, assisting team members rotated in and out. The Transglobal Car Expedition was led by professional mountaineer Vasily Shakhnovsky. Vasily partnered with experienced mountaineer and expedition leader Alex Abramov to initiate the planning and execution of the trip. Amongst the core group were a host of experienced explorers, including Arctic Trucks Chairman Emil Grimsson, professional driver and rally champion Andrew Comri-Picard, mountaineer and polar explorer Vasily Elagin, and several more.

READ MORE: Gear Showcase: Gearing Up for Summer

The fleet of vehicles used during the Transglobal Car Expedition ranges from the relatively pedestrian modified Ford Expeditions to the sci-fi-esque six-wheeled Yemelyas that were specifically built for the team to cross Antarctica. Several of the rigs were modified by Arctic trucks, including AT44 6×6, which starts life as an F-350 before being fitted with 44-inch tires, a 151-gallon fuel capacity, and the ability to tow a 1,100-gallon fuel supply as it traversed the ice.

Transglobal Car Expedition, overlanding, epic adventures, polar crossing, Yemelya, Ford, Artic Trucks, amphibious vehicles,
Map courtesy of Transglobal Car Expedition

In and of itself, this expedition is an impressive testament to the spirit of adventure, but the Transglobal Car Expedition team set off to do much more than just complete the route. Along the way, they completed a number of scientific projects and experiments, including ice thickness at the poles, the flow of cosmic radiation, light pollution studies, and human physiological changes in extreme environments.

It’s been great to follow along on what will surely become a legendary expedition, and we hope this type of epic overland journey inspires some readers to go a little further, even if that’s all the way around the world.

Happier Camper Debuts Traveler Summit, Which Blends Retro Vibes With Modern Amenities https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/happier-camper-debuts-traveler-summit/ Thu, 15 May 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=50000 Happier Camper is known for its playful, retro-inspired campers, and has been developing modular, nostalgia-fueled floor plans since its 2015 launch. Although the company made its mark by producing flexible and adjustable living spaces paired with a healthy dose of vintage colorways and quirkiness, it hasn’t offered much in the way of permanent layouts — until now.

The company recently released the brand-new Traveler Summit, which is designed with a mix of convenient modularity alongside a fixed kitchenette and bathroom, bridging the gap between those who crave permanence with those who like to mix things up.

Like its other models, the Traveler Summit can be re-arranged via Happier Camper’s Adaptive Components — but it builds upon the Traveler that launched in 2020, which integrated a few crucial permanent components in the design.

The Traveler Summit’s is just 17 feet long and weighs less than 3,000 pounds, but it still includes enough space to fit 3-5 campers comfortably. The interior features two fixed elements: the kitchenette and the bathroom. While neither areas can be mistaken for luxury, they’re comfortable enough: the kitchenette includes a built-in stove, stainless steel sink, and a floor-to-ceiling console that holds a full-size fridge and microwave, while the fixed bathroom includes a shower, sink, dry-flush toilet, and storage.

The Traveler Summit also includes a full-sized bed and an entertainment area that can be converted into an additional sleeping zone, should the need arise. Like its earlier models, everything in the Traveler Summit — besides the kitchenette and bathroom — is modular, and can be re-arranged based on your personal preferences. Additional perks include a heater, AC options, solar panel options, built-in closet space and a wireless phone charger.

If you’re interested in an affordable, adorable, adjustable camper that blends old-school charm with new-school adaptability, the Happier Camper Traveler Summit is available for pre-order now through the company’s website, with the goal of shipping units in late 2025. The Traveler Summit starts at $69,950 and is the pinnacle of the Traveler Series; if you’re interested in something more accessible, the Traveler Essentials starts at $39,950 and the Traveler Adventure costs $54,950. Each model comes with a built-in kitchenette.

Slate Debuts Decidedly Small and Analog EV Truck https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/slate-debuts-small-analog-ev/ Mon, 05 May 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=49806 The small and relatively economical Slate has been making waves in the automotive world since its debut last week. Starting at $27,500 and dropping to $20k with federal EV incentives, this small and decidedly analog pickup may be spartan, but it also holds a few surprises. For starters, the Slate offers an incredible level of customization right out of the gate. The standard configuration is a single-cab pickup that features a 60-inch bed, manual crank windows, no center screen display, and a 150-mile range on a single charge. An optional additional battery will expand that range to 240 miles.

However, the Slate was designed to be personalized, and the options are far beyond the usual chrome bits and badges that we typically see as factory options. While all Slate trucks ship in the basic configurations, that’s merely a starting point. The customization process begins with choosing your body style. You can stick with the pickup, go for a five-seater SUV, or a sportier fastback SUV. Oh, and you can decide if you want doors and tops with either SUV option. From there, you can pick from one of over a dozen wrap options, including some partial wraps for a stylish touch. From there, exterior options include custom grills, upgraded lighting, highlight colors, tires, and wheels in multiple sizes, and even a rear tire swing-out bumper. Inside, you can customize colors, materials, a tablet mount, and more. And if you can’t deal with crank windows, there’s a powered option if you aren’t willing to go full vintage.

Admittedly, the styling is square, but at the same time, it still looks unique. Coming in a bit shorter than the Ford Maverick and close to the size of 1980s Toyota single-cab trucks, the Slate definitely bucks the trend of SUVs and trucks getting bigger and bigger. However, for a daily commuter or even a weekend DIY project rig, it has plenty of cargo space. Some of the comments seemed overly critical, and many seemed opposed to the lack of tech in spite of intentionality and price. However, one comment on a prominent automotive news social media post said, “It’s a 1990 Chevy S10 Blazer.” Is that supposed to be a burn? Because I think those were pretty cool, especially with two-tone paint. Please see my own personalized Slate render below for reference.

The Slate doesn’t require any additional charging station at home. It’s compatible with 120-volt household outlets, or if you have a 240-volt outlet, you can charge it even faster. The 120-volt Level 1 charging adds 20-50 miles of range overnight. Level 2 can charge the battery in 4-8 hours. If you want to take it a step further, Slate will offer a Level 3 charging station that provides 480 volts, plus Wifi connectivity and cable storage. This level can charge the Slate’s battery from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.

The Slate is a simple, small EV without flashy styling. Obviously, it won’t be for everyone. But we applaud the team for taking some risks and bucking trends. We’re excited to see these rolling out of their Detroit plant, and without a doubt, some wild combinations will be amongst them. You can reserve your Slate with a $50 refundable deposit, and even if you don’t plan to buy one, the online builder is lots of fun.

Roofnest Debuts the Largest Hardshell Rooftop Tent https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/roofnest-condor-2-xxl-air-rtt/ Wed, 30 Apr 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=49697 If you’re looking for a big rooftop tent, and by that, we mean the largest rooftop tent on the market, then the Roofnest Condor 2 XXL Air should catch your eye. This new offering from the rooftop tent experts at Roofnest offers a whopping 51 square feet of space, but this tent is impressive for more reasons than just the cavernous living space it provides.

The Biggest Roofnest Yet

But just how big is 51 square feet of interior space? Well, this tent can sleep four adults plus a couple of pets. Just because this tent is huge, don’t worry about long setup and breakdown times. A self-deploying rainfly U-bar and an inflatable mattress ensure the Condor 2 XXL Air can be opened or closed in seconds, and it is the fastest-deploying Roofnest ever. To put some more numbers to this model, the inflatable mattress measures 8×6.5 feet, and even with four adults, everyone has 24 inches of shoulder room. Closed, the tent is surprisingly compact, measuring 88x60x15 inches.

The Condor 2 XXL Air features a new shell and tent designed to keep the weight low and maximize interior space and ease of use. It also features new modular side windows that can be used with a simple rainfly cover that’s no-fuss and easy to set up, or an optional additional supported flap that can be deployed for full coverage in all weather conditions.

The exterior shell is compounded PC-ABS versus traditional laminated materials. This means that it’s UV stable, and it won’t bubble, fade, or peel. Access the inside via the 7.5-foot telescoping ladder, and you’ll find an inflatable foam-core air mattress that’s part of Roofnest’s new “Rest EZ Sleep System.” It features fitted and top sheets made from 100% bamboo and a puffy blanket to keep you toasty on cool nights. This is all standard equipment for the Condor 2 XXL Air. The interior also features a translucent moonroof, multiple pockets, blackout material, standard HVAC ports, and three dimmable LED strips.

And if you’re thinking the Condor 2 XXL Air doesn’t look like previous models from Roofnest, you’re right. This tent features an all-new color scheme and refreshed branding. This tent also debuts alongside some new accessories, like an optional secondary ladder so you don’t disturb other occupants when entering and exiting the tent.

Of course, this new model features the design and build quality that Roofnest is known for. For a family traveling together, or a couple of overlanders who need plenty of interior space paired with a quick setup, the Condor 2 XXL Air is a great option that can stand up to plenty of backcountry use for years to come.

The Redesigned Subaru Outback Gets a Major Redesign https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/new-2026-subaru-outback-wilderness/ Mon, 21 Apr 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=49256 Hot on the heels of the updated Forester, the new 2026 Subaru Outback just debuted and this is much more than a light refresh, with a bold redesign and updated tech throughout. While there is plenty of new in this Subie, the Outback is still focused on utility and adventure all wrapped up in a wagon-shaped package, but some might argue that it’s starting to lean into SUV territory. As with any major redesign, some purists might get hit with a case of nostalgia for the old style, but as it turns out, the 2026 Subaru Outback may have gotten a facelift, but underneath the new exterior, it’s the same adventure wagon we all know and love.

2026 Subaru Outback

Starting at the front, a boxier grill and front fascia give the Outback a more aggressive look than previous generations. The stacked headlights are also a departure from Subaru’s usual design language, and it will be interesting to see if this crosses over to other models. The taller appearance isn’t just a trick of the eye; the Outback now boasts a two-inch taller roofline that bumps the interior cargo area from 33 to 35 cubic feet.

With the seats folded flat, the Outback already provides plenty of cargo room or a great base for true car camping, so this additional space should only expand on that utility. Up top, newly upgraded roof rails will support up to 800 lbs. of static weight. All of this is wrapped up in a generally more aggressive package, including bold fender flares, black molding reminiscent of the previous generation’s Wilderness trim, and a corner-to-corner tail light array that seems to throwback to some older Subaru wagons.

READ MORE: How to Start Overlanding

Inside, the totally redesigned interior features a now standard 12.1-inch touchscreen that includes upgraded wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An interesting and welcome move is that the climate control once again has its own dedicated buttons versus being integrated into the touchscreen. The 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster offers multiple display modes, including a map-focused mode for navigation and an updated EyeSight mode. Along with other updates, the doors now feature larger bottle holders that will accommodate up to 32-ounce containers.

While the Outback has plenty of new features, the powertrain options and other mechanical systems remain relatively the same. Base models will include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower, with higher trims moving up to a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that brings 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. 8.7 inches of ground clearance on the standard trims is impressive, but for those looking to head deep into the backcountry, the Wilderness Edition is the way to go.

Like the previous generation, the Outback Wilderness pushes Subaru’s already impressive all-wheel drive wagon to be even backcountry-ready. With 9.5 inches of ground clearance, the turbocharged 2.4-liter, dual-function X-MODE, and a standard front skid plate, the Outback Wilderness can tackle surprisingly rough tracks without an issue. Back on the highway, it’s comfortable to cruise, and the interior provides plenty of cargo room, especially with the back seat folded flat. Of course, the 2026 Wilderness features all of the comfort and tech updates of the other Outback trims, but with the added benefit of more off-road-focused features that make it a great option for an adventure rig.

2025 Easter Jeep Concept Vehicles https://www.overlandexpo.com/compass/2025-easter-jeep-concept-vehicles/ Fri, 18 Apr 2025 14:00:00 +0000 https://www.overlandexpo.com/?p=49243 Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming, insects are starting to buzz around again and cool concept Jeeps are roaming around Moab. That’s right, it’s Easter Jeep Safari time, and once again Jeep has brought out concept vehicles ranging from wild to mild. Interestingly, three of the seven were introduced as “Concept” vehicles, while the other four are under the ” Performance Parts by Mopar” category. More on that later. Regardless of whether they’re true concepts or just kitted out, there is a good chance that one or all of these vehicles will make Jeep and 4×4 enthusiasts envious, so without further delay, let’s jump into the 2025 Easter Jeep Concept Vehicles.

An Easter Jeep is much easier to find among the shrubs than an Easter egg, but these are much more fun to hunt down!

Jeep Convoy

Easter Jeep Concept

Arguably the coolest of the bunch, the Convoy concept harkens back to the J-Series trucks from the 1970s and 80s. The grill and hood are a good mix of the J-Series design cues mixed with modern flair. The split safari top and the matching soft doors add some extra flair to an already cool rig. The Warn winch, a snorkel, and 40-inch BFGoodrich tires round out the build. While it’s doubtful the Gladiator will get a facelift anytime in the near future; it would be cool to see the J-Series design cues return to the lineup.

Jeep Bug Out 4xe

The Bug Out concept is all about weight savings and, based on the name, getting out of a situation fast. While the powertrain is tame, the modifications are not. The rear doors have been filled, and the rear swing gate has been swapped for a tailgate. The half doors and opening between the B and C pillars have been enlarged thanks to a higher roof. The Bug Out features high clearance still bumpers and color-matched details throughout.

Jeep Rewind Concept

Where the Convoy leans into the 70s and 80s designs, the Rewind is literally coated with 90s nostalgia. It’s relatively mild for a concept vehicle, but it still gets style points for the interior and exterior graphics. Outside of those aesthetic changes, the Rewind is pretty close to a stock two-door Wrangler. There’s a chance the smooth rear floor, slightly redesigned roll bar, and an additional storage compartment are features that will make their way into the next generation of Wranglers.

Jeep J6 Honcho

The J6 Honcho is under the Performance Part by Mopar category of the 2025 Easter Jeep fleet, but wait, there are no two-door Jeep trucks on the market. Don’t get too excited, though. Plenty of cool rigs have made their way through Easter Jeep and then faded into concept obscurity. Regardless, if we ever see it again, this is a cool rig. Based on a four-door Wrangler that’s been chopped and paired with a six-foot bed, there’s a lot to like about this vehicle. It’s rolling on 37-inch BFG KM3 mud terrains and a two-inch Mopar lift. The J6 is also outfitted with TYRI lights and a Warn Winch.

Jeep Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept

Rounding out the trio of truck-based Easter Jeep rigs is the High Top Honcho. Built off of a Gladiator, this vehicle isn’t as heavily modified as the Convoy, but it still has plenty of throwback style. The color scheme, especially the white wheels, is as vintage as it gets. The High Top is ready for some serious crawling with 40-inch tires, 5.38 gears, Dana 60 axles, four inches of air suspension lift, steel fender flares, and more.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser

At first glance, the Sunchaser looks like a pretty stock Wrangler 4xe, but upon closer inspection, it’s outfitted with plenty of available parts and a couple of concept parts that are pretty interesting. Starting with the Mopar accessory parts, you’ll find the Sunchaser kitted out with a two-inch Mopar Lift, 37-inch KM3s, a Warn winch, and rock rails. The front bumper isn’t too wild, but the custom push bar is an interesting addition. Instead of rear windows, two storage compartments add additional gear organization. Up top, Mopar Illuminat3 provides plenty of light without interfering with the Freedom Panels.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe Blue Print

Wrapping up the fleet of Jeeps is the 4xe Blue Print. If you want to outfit your Jeep with every possible part from the Mopar accessories catalog, then this rig is the goal you’re striving for. The bold blue color scheme highlights all of Mopar’s possible modifications. The whole list is extensive, but the highlights included 37-inch K03s, three (yes, three) different wheel options, half doors, rock rails, a snorkel, plenty of lights, a two-inch lift, high-clearance fenders, a Warn winch, and Rubicon bumpers.
